Arsenal are one of eight clubs interested in signing Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke, according to reports.
Solanke is on the verge of quitting Stamford Bridge after failing to agree a contract extension to his current deal which expires at the end of the season.
Reports claim the youngster had asked for a staggering £50,000 a week salary from his current employers before he would extend his contract but his demands were rejected and is now set to move to another club in July.
Liverpool were said to be leading the race to sign the striker but the Daily Mail now claims seven other clubs are competing with Jurgen Klopp’s men in the race to sign one of England’s brightest talents.
Arsenal are one of the seven clubs reportedly challenging Livepool for the striker’s services. Bayern Munich, West Ham, Everton, Rangers, Celtic and Sunderland are the other six clubs who are also interested in signing the striker.
The amount of interest in Solanke isn’t surprising considering he is a player with huge potential as was evident in his seven goals in 25 games when he spent last season at the Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem.
However, his wage demands will put off a lot of clubs including Arsenal who work with a strict wage budget. There is no way we’d take up the 19 year old for £50,000 weekly, perhaps we could become serious contenders if he reduces his wage demands.
