AC Milan are keen to round up their summer spending spree with the capture of Jack Wilshere, according to reports.
Wilshere who spent last season on loan at AFC Bournemouth was a target of the Italian giants last summer but the midfielder chose to move to the Dean Court instead.
Milan kept an eye on Wilshere’s situation all throughout last season and have now been alerted by Arsenal’s willingness to sell the 25 year old.
Despite spending big on 11 players already this summer, Milan will not rest until they sign Wilshere and Corriere dello Sport via Sports Mole are claiming the Italians have already opened talks with Arsenal over the transfer of the midfielder.
Wilshere is currently recovering from a broken leg injury he sustained in March, the most recent of a series of long-term injuries he sustained in the last few years.
With the midfielder into the final year of his contract, there is this feeling among those at the corridors of the Emirates that this is the best chance to get rid of him.
Gooners would recall that Arsenal can be ruthless with players like Wilshere, as evident in the case of Abou Diaby who was released by Arsenal in 2015 because of injury troubles despite his obvious talent.
Newcastle and West Ham have also been linked with the midfielder who is expected to cost at least £20m but it is Milan who are in the driving seat for his signature at the moment, with the reports adding that the European giants are ready to complete his signing this week.
