Alcacer could make the switch to the Emirates in January.
Arsenal have Valencia’s Paco Alcacer on their radar and could be prepping for a future transfer.
Arsenal scouts are reportedly on the trail of Valencia striker Paco Alcacer. The 21-year-old Spaniard, who is also on Chelsea’s radar, currently has a release clause of just £14.5 million. Arsenal will be looking to make an offer for him before he is able to renegotiate a contract with Valencia. Any renegotiation in his contract would likely increase his release clause, and the club would like to make a move before any significant increase occurs.
Alcacer really announced himself on the continental stage when he bagged three goals in the second leg of last season’s Europa League quarter-final against Basel. Because of his play, Valencia overturned a three goal aggregate deficit and eliminated the Swiss champions. Another Alcacer accomplishment came during this past La Liga season, when he scored the winner in a 3-2 win over Barcelona. All in all, he ended last season with 14 goals and three assists in all competitions.
Alcacer recently made his Spanish debut on September 4th friendly against Italy, coming in for an injured Diego Costa. And in just his second appearance, he made the start and contributed a goal and an assist to Spain’s 5-1 victory over Macedonia. It will be interesting to see how Alcacer will factor into the Spanish side when Costa returns.
Alcacer’s play with Valencia has helped him steadily rise in the international football market. He would no doubt significantly strengthen the squad. With the forwards and wingers that the club have now, and with potentially Alcacer coming, Arsene Wenger would have many strong options and lineup combinations to help Arsenal to victories.
