Arsenal Wenger still looks interested in strengthening his midfield options this summer despite completing the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The French man is reportedly willing to strengthen his squad considerably ahead of next season as he prepares for what could be his last shot at winning the Premier League title.
Despite the official confirmation of Granit Xhaka, Arsenal are still being linked with a host of midfielders, it is believed that the French man is keen to replace Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Thomas Rosicky who are on their way out.
Wenger has now identified Celtic’s Tom Rogic as a player who could fill the shoes of one of the veteran midfielders.
According to the Sun via the Daily Star, Wenger is confident of signing Rogic this summer. The midfielder is valued around £7m and that is not expected to pose any problem to the Gunners financially.
Rogic, 23, is an Australian international who was a key figure in Celtic’s march to the Scotish Premier League title this season.
Rogic might not be well known like the Gunners other midfield targets in N’Golo Kante and Moussa Sissoko but Rogic’s potential is said to have attracted Wenger; and he could be a useful squad member at the Emirates and could provide depth in midfield position should Wenger step up his interest in the 23 year old.
