Arsenal Legend Ray Parlour has asked the club to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The ex-Gunner believes Wenger needs to spend as much as £80m on a new centre back and centre forward this summer.

Parlour reckons Wenger should sign Matt Hummels and Harry Kane if he wants to improve his squad. Kane was a former player at the club’s academy between 2001 and 2002 and Parlour believes his ties with the club in the past should be enough for Wenger to try to sign him.

When asked who the Gunners should sign, Parlour said:

“Harry Kane, maybe?

“That’s who I’d go for. He’s an Arsenal fan!

“Have you seen the pictures of his in 2004 with an Arsenal shirt on?

“He’s one of our own!”

“They need a Tony Adams type player, like Mats Hummels, at centre-half and a top class striker, there’s no doubt about that.

Parlour also said the importance of having a world class centre back and a world class striker cannot be overemphasized.

“Look, I played with Ian Wright and Thierry Henry… we all know we need a top quality striker.

“Mesut Ozil has created more chances than any other player in the Premier League this season.

“That just shows you he’s creating chances, but is there a man to finish them off?”
