Arsenal has been handed a huge transfer boost as long time target insists he won’t be renewing his contract at his current club, pointing to an exit in the summer.
According to the Mirror, Ilkay Gundogan has told his current club Borussia Dortmund that he won’t need a contract renewal, as he prepares for a summer filled with offers from other clubs.
His contract is out in June 2016 and Dortmund has been trying to tie the 24-year-old to a new deal.
But according to latest reports, the German international look set to exit the Westfalenstadion and some of Europe’s elite clubs are already vying for his signature.
Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Juventus are all keen on landing the talented central midfielder. But the Mirror claims that Manchester United are leading the race for his signature.
The report also claim that the Red Devils are plotting an £18 million move for the midfield pass master in the summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a longtime admirer of Gundogan. But his injury records over the last two seasons have put thoughts of signing the player at bay.
