Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Palour has urged the club not to sell its British players, according to the Express.
Wenger is reportedly interested in selling some of his British players and reports have claimed the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Calum Chambers could be sold.
Parlour has urged Wenger not to dismantle the British core of the side claiming it is not the way forward citing Tottenham as an example.
Parlour suggests Tottenham is doing well this season and one of the reason’s Pochettino men are flying high is because of their English core.
“I think you have got to have that core. That’s what I like about Spurs,” Parlour said.
“That core of British players they’ve got.
“Both full-backs and you look down the spine of the team, (Eric) Dier, Dele Alli, Harry Kane.
“I know their two centre-halves are foreign but down that spine of the team they have got good British players.”
Arsenal currently trail Tottenham and the White Hart Lane side is on course to finish above the Gunners for the first time since 1995.
