Arsenal have reportedly been quoted a fee of £80 million by AS Monaco to sign winger Thomas Lemar this summer, making it “increasingly unlikely” the Gunners will be able to snap up the Frenchman

The London Evening Standard claims the Gunners are set to step up their pursuit of Lemar having had an initial £30m bid rejected.

Arsenal value the 21-year-old at £30m but Monaco are not prepared to part with him unless they are offered over double that amount.

Reports claim Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a second bid for him but it is unsure how much they will be willing to pay definitely not the £80m fee.

France international Lemar can operate on either flank but is most comfortable as a left-winger, so he could act as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez should the Chilean leave north London.
