Arsenal players and staff are becoming increasingly worried about Arsene Wenger’s decision making, according to the Telegraph.
As the club faces a fight to make sure the current season doesn’t end in a disaster, the report claims members of the club’s staff are unhappy that Wenger gave the players a day off on Monday after a dismal performance against Crystal Palace on Sunday. The staff believe the players should be working hard to get their season on track as we enter into the final games of the season.
It is claimed the Gunners were given Friday off before the game against Alan Pardew’s men and were also told to rest at home on the Sunday and Monday after the draw against West Ham.
It is believed that Wenger’s training Schedule has raised eyebrows amongst the club’s staff as the Frenchman has given his side four days off in the last nine days. With the club’s recent form, it is expected that the players will spend more time on the pitch working on how to improve their results.
It is not only Wenger’s training method’s that is causing the staff’s unrest, his team’s selection and substitutions have been questioned amongst the workers.
The report claims Wenger’s insistence on picking Gabriel Paulista over Per Mertesacker at the heart of the defense has got the staff scratching their heads.
Wenger has been blamed in some quarters for the Gunners failure to compete for the title this season with fans calling him out to quit his job in the game against Hull City in February.
The club, just like in previous seasons, is now more concerned about finishing in the top four rather than winning the title.
