Arsenal could join the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrinkh Mkhitaryan, according to reports.
According to German publication Sport Bild via Sport Witness, should Wenger be in charge of the club when the summer transfer window opens, the Frenchman could make an attempt to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mkhitaryan.
According to the report, Wenger is interested in strengthening his right wing and thinks he needs an upgrade in that position.
Mkhitaryan has been one of the best players for BVB this summer and would have just one year left in his contract in the summer.
Bild believes one of the English teams could use their financial muscle to lure the player to England.
Dortmund are prepared to do anything possible to keep the midfielder beyond this season with the German club almost guaranteed a UCL spot next season, they want to keep their best players which includes Mkhitaryan.
Should the club be forced to sell, It is believed that the player won’t cost anything less than £22m and Dortmund could play hardball in order to drive the price up.
Liverpool were interested in signing the midfielder last summer and should Dortmund indicate any interest in selling the Armenian International, Klopp could rival Wenger for Mkhitaryan services.
The winger has scored 19 goals and has assisted his teammates 23 times in all competitions this season.
