Carl Jenkinson is likely to leave the Emirates in the winter transfer window, as reported by Squawka.
The defender who has made a handful of appearances for Arsenal this season has fallen out of favor at the Emirates to the extent he is behind centre back Gabriel Paulista in Wenger’s pecking order.
Jenkinson’s chances of making a first team appearance for Arsenal in the second half of the season now looks very slim and according to the Daily Mail, he is currently a target of Crystal Palace and West Ham.
The report claims Arsenal will listen to any offer for the defender in January be it a loan bid or a permanent bid.
West Ham are touted as favorites to sign Jenkinson, after the defender spent two years at the East London club.
New Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce is also weighing up a bid for the defender having enjoyed a good relationship with the player when he was in charge of West Ham.
A move away from the Emirates look like the best option for Jenkinson if he wants to save his career. At 24, the defender needs to be playing regularly and there’s no way he will get that at the Emirates.
Jenkinson so far, has failed to fulfill his potential at the Emirates despite joining Arsenal with so much potential in 2011, a move away could just be a career turning point for him just like Ryan Bertrand.
