Arsenal are set to sign 18-year-old striker Ademola Lookman from Charlton Athletic, the Gunners – who have had issues ranging from injuries to loss of form and sometimes outright lack of quality over the years in the striking department, are reportedly close to adding the talented attacker to their ranks.

Lookman has attracted attention since breaking into the first team this season with some impressive performances and 4 goals in 16 appearances for the team who are struggling in the Championship.

Despite recently signing a deal keeping him at Charlton till 2020, Arsenal are set to finalize an early move ahead of the summer transfer window, with Charlton ready to cash in on him.

The striker earlier reiterated his commitment to the club after signing the new deal “This club is very important to me and I’m very grateful for the chance Charlton has given me.

“I wanted to repay my debt because I owe something to this club. Giving myself until 2020 is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time now. I’m pleased it’s finally done” He said in an interview

Lookman deal will not be the first time the two clubs are doing business in recent years, Carl Jenkinson moved to the gunners from Charlton in 2012, and Alex Song, Emmanuel Frimpong and more recently Francis Coquelin have had loan spells at Charlton, with Yaya Sanogo currently on loan at the club.
