According to German football expert Rafa Honigstein dropped an interesting nugget of information regarding RB Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg on the Totally Football Show podcast this week.

Honigstein confirmed that Arsenal tried to sign Forsberg in the January transfer window and they could rekindle their interest for the German star this summer.

Moreover, Honigstein, who is currently helping Per Mertesacker write his autobiography, has voiced his belief that Arsenal are likely to try to sign the Swedish international again.

Emil Forsberg has been in and out of the (RB Leipzig) team with injuries, and they’ve really missed him a lot.

He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League. He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig.

I think (Arsenal) will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent.

26-year-old Forsberg has five goals and three assists for RB Leipzig this season in 21 matches.
