Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the latest up-and-coming Brazilian talents at the Belo Horizonte Cup.
The Belo Horizonte Cup kicks off this week and has proven to be a goldmine for talent in the past.
The grassroots competition brings Under-17s together from across the country, attracting attention from numerous scouts.
And Brazilian newspaper O Tempo
has revealed Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City all have representatives in attendance.
The scout for City is said to be the man responsible for bringing Gabriel Jesus to the club last January for £27million.
The BH Cup has previously seen Brazilian superstars Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Neymar take part.
And last year’s competition gave rise to Flamengo star Vinicius Junior who agreed a move to Real Madrid off the back of his fine performances.
However, the Premier League clubs could face a tough challenge snapping up young talent, with Brazilian sides keen to keep their stars in the country.
“This is a good fight, because the clubs have their catchment departments very structured,” Cruzeiro director Eduardo Freeland said.
“We are starting work in the sense that it is not allowed to lose players of our region to other clubs of Brazil.
“If we can get the athlete near his home, he’ll be able to do what he’s going to do in the future.”
