West Bromwich Albion remain interested in signing Kieran Gibbs, according to reports.
The 27 year od is expected to leave the Emirates this summer but none of his suitors have been able to match Arsenal’s valuation.
Watford have been heavily linked with the defender but they are struggling to agree a fee with Arsenal, which has given other clubs hope of signing him.
It has now emerged that West Brom are still in the race to sign the defender as Tony Pulis finalizes plans to strengthen his squad.
The Baggies had a £10m bid rejected for Gibbs in June which prompted Pulis to publicly end their interest in the defender. But the Mirror are claiming they are still monitoring the defender’s situation and could end up signing him.
Southampton, Stoke City, Newcastle and West Brom have all been linked with the defender this summer but none of them have come close to signing him.
On his own part, Gibbs’ reluctance to take a pay-cut is also holding up the deal and he will also have to reconsider his stance if a move is to go through before the transfer window closes.
Gibbs has been at Arsenal since 2006 and was tipped by many as the club’s heir to Ashley Cole but he never lived up to the hype and has apparently played his last game for the club.
