Arsenal are set to hand Arsene Wenger a huge transfer kitty to revamp the squad this summer as the boss prepares to sign a new two year deal.

This is according to The Mirror which claims Wenger will be trusted to carry out a major overhaul of Arsenal squad this summer.

Arsenal fans have been calling for the club to spend more in the transfer window and we might finally get our wishes granted.

However, we could be set for some disappointment as the report claims Wenger may have to replace Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez – our two best players.

Wenger is set to sign a new two year deal and his first task after extending his contract could be to replace Sanchez and Ozil. The duo’s contracts expire at the end of next season but they are yet to sign new deals.

Arsenal are now resigned to losing the duo and will back Wenger with a transfer budget worth over a £100m to improve the squad.

A shortlist of star players which includes Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, Celtic’s Moussa Dembele and Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus has been drawn up to improve the club’s attacking options.

Signing a new goalkeeper is also said to be part of the plan with Stoke City’s Jack Butland, Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford and Manchester City’s Joe Hart on our radar.

Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and Valencia’s Jose Gaya are also options to improve the defense as the futures of both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs are in doubt.

While in midfield, we could see Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey leave with Ross Barkley on the club’s radar as a potential arrival.

The belief within the club is that we need to carry out a major overhaul of our playing staff to take the club to the next level.

Gooners will definitely be excited by this news as this means we will finally see the club compete with other big boys for top players in the transfer market.

This show of ambition by the club is a welcome development and should Wenger who is expected to carry out this task get it right by bringing in the right players, he would reaffirm his hero status at the Arsenal.

One more thing he just needs to do is keep Ozil and Sanchez at all cost.
