Arsenal are interested in signing Olympic Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, according to reports.
Wenger is keen on signing a striker following Danny Welbeck’s long term injury and the French tactician is working actively to sign a quality one.
The Gunners have been snubbed by Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Wenger is now set to turn his attentions elsewhere.
According to Italian Journalist Emmanuel Giulianelli via Sports Review, Arsenal will now turn to Belgian international Batshuayi.
The Journalist revealed this via his twitter account:
With Vardy remaining at Leicester, Arsenal new target will be Michy Batshuayi. #afc
North London rivals Tottenham have been trying to sign the striker but they have been put back by Marseille’s asking price. It is believed the French club won’t let the striker leave for a fee less than £30m.
West Ham are also keen on signing the striker and Wenger would need to act fast if he wants to secure the services of the 22 year old. The player is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League and Arsenal could be a good destination for him should Wenger step up his interest.
The striker scored 17 Ligue 1 goals for Marseille in 36 appearances last season.
