Arsenal’s delve in the upcoming transfer window seems to be taking a rather speedy fashion as there are reports that the Gunners are set to land Dundee United defender John Souttar.

Arsenal have moved quickly ahead of the summer transfer window with fresh reports according to the Metro, that Arsenal are ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton in the race for Dundee United defender John Souttar.

The 18-years old player was promoted to the first team of the club in 2013 and has scored 1 goal in 16 games so far this season.

Souttar is highly versatile as he can operate perfectly as a right wing-back.

The Scottish international is tied to Dundee United until 2016. Despite having received offer from Celtic, Souttar is believed to close to joining the Gunners in the coming weeks.

Arsenal fans, is Wenger right to move for such a youngster rather than big name stars?

I can see why Wenger is going for youngsters. He has a good experienced team at his disposal and he can maintain this team for another 4-5 years. With only minor adjustments, it would be right to allow the reserves and youngsters to come into the first team.
