Following the rise to prominence of Arsenal youngster Hector Bellerin, out-of-favour right-back Mathieu Debuchy could be given the chance to revive his career away from the Emirates Stadium, according to the Daily Star.
According to reports making the rounds, France international Mathieu Debuchy could be set for a shock return to his former club Newcastle when the summer transfer window opens in January.
Debuchy, 30, was ousted from Arsenal’s first team by young Spaniard Hector Bellerin, who has been in superb form for Arsene Wenger’s side, placing the France international as second choice right-back for the Gunners.
And now, reports claim Debuchy could return to his former club Newcastle in January in a bid to revive his career with more game time to be able to get a call-up into the France national team for the upcoming Euro 2016 champions set to hold next summer.
This news could come as a blow to Arsenal fans, with the only right-back option left for the Gunners being Callum Chamber – who is regarded more as a centre-back.
