Arsenal are set to make a sensational swoop for Premier League star in the coming weeks.
Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Chelsea’s Petr Cech this summer despite some reports suggesting otherwise.
Wenger in his pre-match press conference last week, poured cold water on rumours that he is in the market for a new goalkeeper, insisting that he has believe in the goalkeepers currently available at his disposal.
“I believe in the goalkeepers I have. I believe that Szczesny is a very good goalkeeper and Ospina has come in and done a fantastic job. You look at the numbers in the Premier League and you look at who is top of all the goalkeepers and you will see it’s Ospina.” Wenger said when asked if the goalkeepers available at his disposal are good enough to win titles
But fresh reports according to Express, claim that Wenger will move for the veteran goalkeeper should the 32-year-old decide to leave the Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Cech who has spent 11 years in London with Chelsea is also being chased by French money bags – Paris Saint-Germain.
But the Czech Republic International who would cost just £10 million to sign is said to be more interested in a move across the city to join Arsenal.
A move which reports suggest is influenced by Cech’s unwillingness to relocate his family away from London; a situation which would ease Arsenal’s negotiations when the player finally decides to exit the Stamford Bridge.
