Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are interested in signing former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports.
Despite Arsene Wenger ruling out the possibility of signing a striker this month, that hasn’t stopped reports from linking the Gunners from one striker to another.
And now, according to Sport via the Sun, Arsenal are now set to reopen their interest in Juventus striker Alvaro Morata who left the Spanish Capital for Turin in 2014.
The Gunners were very interested in signing the 23 year old striker before he moved to Juventus but Wenger failed to convince the Spanish man to move to the Emirates as it was revealed by the player’s intermediary that he snubbed the Gunners in favour of a move to Turin.
With the Gunners now interested in signing a striker next summer, it seems they could turn their attention to their former target.
The report claims Real Madrid has a buy back clause in Morata’s contract but the recent ban on the Spanish club could clear the way for Arsenal to sign the striker.
Morata enjoyed a wonderful first season with Juventus where he scored 15 goals in all competitions but this season has been slightly different as has just 3 goals in 24 appearances.
