Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has revealed his disappointed between him and Arsene Wenger.
Ex Gunner Emmanuel Petit recently revealed Vieira is unhappy with Wenger for refusing to accommodate him at the club after retirement. Petit claimed the former defensive midfielder was left disgusted because he wanted a coaching role at Arsenal but was not given the opportunity.
Vieira has now claimed that he holds no grudges against Wenger, although admitted he was disappointed when he wasn’t given the chance to work at Arsenal.
“I was a bit disappointed not to get a call at the end of my career,” Vieira told L’Equipe, as quoted by The Express.
“Arsene has right to think you don’t deserve it, that you’re not ready… But I think there’s always a way to open the door.
“As a player I wanted to go as high as possible. Same now. My dream is to manage one of Europe’s biggest teams one day.”
Vieira was then offered a role at Manchester City youth team and is now the manager of Man City’s sister club New York City. He is doing well in management already as his club currently sits third in the MLS league table.
The former midfielder hopes to manage in Europe someday and as a man who has the Gunners DNA in him, he will be a perfect manager for Arsenal when Wenger steps down.
