Arsenal Star Forward Desperately Want Gunners To Sign This Title Rival’s Key Man

Gunners legend Paul Merson has urged the North London club to appoint outgoing Manchester City boss Manuel Pelligrini as a successor to Arsene Wenger.

The French tactician is nearing the end of his contract at the Emirates and recently stated that he is yet to begin contract talks with the club, Merson has urged the Gunners to move for Pelligrini as it has been confirmed that the Chilean will be leaving his position at the Etihad when the current season expires.

The Gunners were linked with a move to sign Pep Guardiola as various reports claimed the Spanish tactician has set his sight on a move to the Emirates but with the former Barcelona man set for a move to the Etihad, Merson believes the Chilean has all the credentials to succeed at the Emirates should he replace Wenger. When asked about a successor to Wenger, Merson said:

‘The way he’s handled himself, I would say Pellegrini of Man City. He’s been a credit. I mean, he could go on to win all three trophies in England and he still got the sack.’

Arsenal are yet to win a league title in the last 10 years under Arsene Wenger and the Gunner’s will be hoping a serial winner replaces Wenger should the French man leave the Emirates.

Pelligrini won the Premier League title and Capital One Cup trophy in his first season in England and he is currently in the race to win a Quadruple this season.
