Arsenal midfielder Gideon Zelalem has kept the door open to return to Glasgow Rangers on loan next season, according to Standard Sports.
Zelalem, 19, joined Rangers on loan last summer and has impressed for the scottish side helping them gain promotion to the Scottish Premier League.
The Telegraph reported last week that Gideon Zelalem could be a part of the Gunners squad next season as a result of the proposed midfield overhaul likely to take place at the Emirates this summer.
The midfielder has now revealed that should he not impress Wenger enough in preseason, he will not mind returning to Rangers for a second spell.
He said: “Firstly I’m going to go back to pre-season with Arsenal and see how I do there. If it doesn’t work out there then this is another option.
“I haven’t spoken to the gaffer here yet about it but I’m sure that conversation will come up.”
However, the midfielder has found himself out of the Rangers starting line up at the moment but made a substitute appearance against rivals Celtic on sunday and helped his side reach the Scottish cup final. Zelalem reveals he has always wanted to play in such big games and is currently enjoying the moment
“This is what I wanted in football to play in these types of games and big derbies be it Arsenal v Tottenham or Rangers v Celtic,” he added.
“I’m living the dream and I hope to continue to do that.”
Zelalem has made 18 appearances for Rangers in all competitions this season.
