Arsenal Legend Ian Wright believes Wenger has done a wonderful summer transfer business.
At the end of last season, many ex Gunners including Wright urged Wenger to use the transfer window to strengthen the squad in order to give the club the chance of winning the league title this year.
The French tactician went ahead to spend close to £100m on new signings with the likes of Rob Holding, Granit Xhaka, Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi coming in to improve the team.
Wright has now praised Wenger for his efforts claiming he has done well to improve the squad. Although, the boss had to wait until the final days of the transfer window before he could sign Perez and Mustafi, Wright believes they are not panic buys.
“How can you call them panic buys?” Wright told The Sun Goals podcast, as quoted by the Daily Star.
“We haven’t seen them play or do anything.
“If they come in and hit the ground running, they’re majestic buys.
“If they don’t do anything, then you can say that. People are saying it’s panic buys before they even see them play.”
Mustafi and Perez will provide cover in defense and attack respectively for Wenger who would be without Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck until at least next year.
