Football Journalist Christophe Dugarry has dropped a bombshell about Olivier Giroud’s future.
Giroud is being linked with a move to Marseille, with the French giants keen on a big money move for his services. Although the French international has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from the Emirates, former French footballer Dugarry claims that Giroud will leave the Emirates if Arsenal signs two forwards.
Giroud has struggled for game time this season, falling behind Alexis Sanchez in Wenger’s pecking order. With Sanchez prepared to leave the Emirates this summer, Wenger would need to bring in at least one world class striker but it wont go down well with Giroud.
Dugarry is quoted as saying:
“Olivier Giroud, if two strikers sign to Arsenal, he has no interest to stay.”
Giroud signed a new deal in January and he is expected to remain here for at least next season. However, the striker could find himself further down the pecking order if two world class strikers come in and considering next season precedes the world cup competition, Giroud may want to move to where he will feature regularly.
That being said, i doubt if Wenger will make a move for two strikers this summer, so it is likely Giroud will remain here next term.
