Olivier Giroud could join Borussia Dortmund before the transfer window closes, according to reports.
The arrival of Alexandre Lacazette threatened to end Giroud’s career at Arsenal but when given the chance to decide his own future, the French man chose to remain at the Emirates to fight for a spot in Wenger’s starting xi.
His decision to stay here made Wenger, the club and Gooners happy but reports in France are still linking the 30 year old with a move away from the Emirates.
According to Le 10 Sport via Tribal Football, Giroud is attracted to the prospect of playing for Dortmund and will consider a move to the German side if they step up their interest.
BVB could be forced into the market if they lose their top striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and they see Giroud as a perfect replacement.
This does sound familiar, right? In July, it was also claimed Giroud was attracted to the prospect of playing for Everton but he eventually turned them down to stay with us.
However, one can’t predict footballers and Giroud could well change his mind before the transfer window closes, should that happen, it is unlikely Wenger would sanction the move because it will leave us with little or no time to find a replacement.
