Arsenal have reportedly offered West Ham the chance to sign Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain this summer.

According to the Mirror via the Metro, the midfielder could be allowed to leave the Emirates this summer as Wenger tries to improve his squad ahead of next season.

It is believed that Wenger is willing to listen to offers for the England international at the end of the season and West Ham has previously indicated their interest in signing the 22 year old.

Chamberlain just recovered from a knee injury he sustained in the Champions League game against Barcelona in February. Chamberlain is now considered dispensable by the club having failed to make an impact this season. The midfielder’s involvement in the team this term has been limited by injuries and poor form.

The emergence of Alex Iwobi hasn’t helped Chamberlain either as the Nigeria international has been impressive since breaking into the club’s first team and has pushed Chamberlain further down the pecking order.

Wenger is looking to improve the team ahead of next season and will likely sell some fringe players to fund moves for quality players.

Slaven Bilic is reportedly interested in the 22 year old and the East London club is expected to grab the opportunity being offered to them by Arsenal.

Southampton are also interested in Chamberlain and would go head to head with West Ham to sign the winger this summer.
