Arsenal have joined a host of top Premier League clubs in the race to sign Fulham youngster Matt O’Riley, according to The Sun.
We have taken special interest in signing some of football’s best talents in recent years and it appears we are determined to continue in that line. Club chief Ivan Gazidis revealed few weeks ago that henceforth, we would focus even more on signing talented youngsters and help them develop into the first team.
That has been evident in reports linking players with our club in recent weeks as it has been more of young talented players being linked with us than established players and Fulham youngster Matt O’Riley is the recent name being linked with us.
The 15-year-old is already playing for Fulham U18’s and has been impressive for the young cottagers , drawing interests from Manchester City, Liverpool and of course ourselves.
Fulham are determined to keep hold of the youngster and will demand in excess of £1m for the youngster if they are forced to sell but that shouldn’t be a problem for us.
O’Riley is already being likened to Italian Legend Andrea Pirlo, which shows he is a player with a big future ahead of him.
The prospect of playing in a Premier League club could appeal to the youngster, leaving Fulham powerless to stop him.
Whether we would be able to find a way to beat Manchester City and Liverpool to the services of the youngster is a big question which we would have to wait until next summer to find out.
