Liverpool remain interested in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain despite Arsenal set to open contract renewal talks with the midfielder.

Chamberlain has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with Klopp said to be preparing a big money move for the midfielder. However, Arsenal are not interested in selling the 23 year old and the club would begin talks with the midfielder next week in a bid to secure his long-term future.

Chamberlain has one year left in his contract and earlier in the season, there were talks about him leaving but his form since January has forced Arsenal into a rethink and he is now set to be rewarded with a new deal.

Liverpool continue to be interested in the winger but their hope of signing him remains slim.

Both Arsenal and the midfielder have indicated their willingness to continue together, meaning an agreement shouldn’t be difficult to reach when talks commence.

Reports claim a price-tag of £35m has been placed on the midfielder if he doesn’t sign a new deal but that is unlikely to happen considering he is happy here.

Chamberlain has been a Gunner since 2011, when he joined from Southampton’s academy and seems like he is beginning to fulfill the huge potential that forced us to spend big on him six years ago.
