Italian giants Juventus are considering making a surprise move for Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, according to reports.
The striker has been a prominent member of the first team since he moved to the club in 2012 but his inconsistent performances have drawn mixed reactions from both fans and pundits. Many believe the club needs a world class striker to lead the line and take the club to another level and many believe Giroud is not in the class of striker the club needs, hence the reason for the call of a world class striker.
With Wenger reportedly in search of a world class striker this summer, Giroud’s future at the club have been thrown into doubt.
According to the report, Olivier Giroud along with Edison Cavani and Michy Batshuayi are on the Serie A Champions’ wishlist to strengthen their strike force at the end of the season.
Giroud already has 20 goals in all competitions for the Gunners this season but Wenger is reportedly interested in a striker who can score up to 30 goals a season to lead the line.
Giroud have been forced to make do with a place on the bench due to the superb form of Dani Welbeck since the English international returned from injury and should Wenger succeed in signing a new striker, Giroud could be further forced down the pecking order.
Giroud has just two years left in his contract and would be a cheaper option compared to the likes of Cavani.
Giroud has scored 53 league goals in 118 appearances for the club since he moved to the Emirates in 2012
