AS Roma are not giving up in their attempts to sign Wojciech Szczesny, according to reports.
The Poland goalkeeper spent the whole of last season at the Italian club and was an important part of the squad helping them to 3rd place in the Serie A table.
Szczesny is not prepared to return to the Emirates, due to the presence of Petr Cech as Arsenal’s first choice goalie and the Poland’s shot stopper’s preference will be to remain in Rome.
Roma have made moves to either sign the player on a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season or a straight permanent deal but the Italian club have been put back by Arsenal’s demands.
According to Italian Publication Calcio Mercato via Inside football, Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabaltini will hold talks with Szczesny’s agent in the coming weeks in a bid to find a solution to keep the goalkeeper at the Italian club.
Roma are hoping Arsenal can be persuaded to soften their stand and allow the keeper spend at least another season on loan at Roma.
Szczesny’s future is expected to be resolved in the coming weeks, with Poland being out of the Euro 2016 competition, it is expected that both clubs will intensify talks on the keeper’s future in the coming days.
