Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal are going to review William Saliba’s situation at the club ahead of a potential loan move away in the January transfer window.
With the 20/21 season already three months in, William Saliba is still waiting on his competitive Arsenal debut.
The whole Saliba issue has certainly started to drag on, with the constant talk of choosing between remaining at the Emirates Stadium or going out on loan, so you might want to check out best high roller casinos while you wait for confirmation which, knowing Arsenal, could still be some time from coming.
After being largely used in pre-season, the young and promising defender made a couple of the early squads selections in the Community Shield and League Cup. But he never appeared on the pitch, and eventually stopped getting squad call-ups completely over the next few months.
The defender is not in the Arteta’s Europa League team and the Arsenal boss revealed that the club had tried to loan him out, albeit towards the end of the summer transfer window. But at this stage, he doesn’t know if they will still send the 19-year-old French defender out in January.
“Well, I don’t know,” Arteta admitted according to Sky Sports.
“We certainly tried in the last few days of the transfer window to find the right club and we had him, but at the end of the day we could not make it.
“We will review the situation in the next few weeks and sit down with him as well and see what is the best thing to do. But it will depend on him and other players’ situations as well.”

Arteta went on to state his regrets at the way things have turned out with the young defender over the last two months of the season.
Arteta added that he could have used the defender in Europa League games, but when he and his backroom staffs selected the squad they didn’t know how many injuries and injury setbacks they’d have soon afterwards.
“At the moment, with the amount of central defenders that we have in the team, we had to let him out of the squad which is painful,” Arteta added.
“After that, we had some injuries and we could have used him but it’s part of this profession.”
For now, Saliba will have to make do with the Arsenal u23s. He has already made starts against Brighton, Manchester United, and Liverpool, and there’s a good chance he will get a chance in the League Cup or The FA Cup after the International break this November.
