Swansea City are interested in signing Arsenal’s out of favour defender Carl Jenkinson, according to reports.
Jenkinson is one of Arsenal’s numerous players expected to leave the Emirates this summer but there has been less interest in his services until now.
The defender last featured for Arsenal in November 2016 and was expected to join Crystal Palace in a £5m deal in the last winter transfer window but a move broke down after he refused to take a pay-cut.
Swansea, themselves are big admirers of the forward and also tried to sign him in January, they are now set to renew their interest as Paul Clement attempts to bolster his squad ahead of the upcoming season.
A move is expected to go through this summer as Arsenal are desperate to get the defender off its books while the player is apparently willing to kick-start his career elsewhere after spending the majority of the last one year on the bench.
How much Jenkinson would cost potential buyers hasn’t been revealed but he isn’t expected to cost much considering the club are desperate to sell him.
He isn’t the only one who is expected to leave the club this summer with Lucas Perez, Kieran Gibbs and Mathieu Debuchy expected to follow him out of the exit door.
