With the January transfer window fast approaching, Arsenal are tipped to be heavily involved in the window as they may well offload some of their key players.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Czech Republic and Udinese defensive midfielder Jakub Jankto’s and it appears that they have been boosted in the player’s pursuit after AC Milan reportedly withdrew from his chase, per reports.
According to Calciomercato, Udinese sports director Manuel Gerolin has put a price tag of €30 million and it is claimed that AC Milan would not be able to sign the star for the said amount, leaving Arsenal as clear favourites for his signature.
The report further claims that Jankto has always dreamt of plying his trade in the Premier League and unless Arsenal do not want to sign him, he could add steel and fortify the midfield of the Gunners.
Since joining Udinese Udinese Calcio from SK Slavia Prague in 2014, the 21-year-old has steadily improved upon his game and he has seen his stock risen. Described ask a complete defensive midfielder because of his ability to create goals and support defenders, he would offer something different than the cultured midfielders currently at the disposal of Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal are uncertain over the return of Santi Carzola and Jack Wilshere has been linked with a move away from club. Wenger will be compelled to add a midfielder in the mould of Jankto.
