Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of one of football’s hottest prospects.
The Gunners are now in pole position to land Paulo Dybala after fellow contender for his signature Juventus denied reports that they have agreed a deal with the Argentine striker.
Dybala who has been heavily linked to Arsenal in recent weeks was reported earlier to have been captured by the Italian champions.
However, Football Italia are reporting that Juventus manager Max Allegri has denied a deal is in place to sign the youngster, leaving Arsenal in pole position to land the 21-year-old forward.
‘He is not yet a Juventus player,’ confirmed Allegri.
‘I will not talk about players from other clubs.’
Wenger is in search for more fire power to add to his attack next season and has identified Dybala, who has been dubbed the “new Aguero”, following similarities with his fellow compatriot at Manchester City.
Wenger is set to receive a marmot transfer war chest to go about his summer business and Dybala could follow a host of other stars to the Emirates.
Dybala would reportedly cost the Gunners £29 million to acquire his services.
