Arsenal vs Burnley: Player Ratings, MOTM, FOTM.

Never seen many players play so well in one Arsenal game.  Don’t say it was just Burnley as United couldn’t get anything past them. A goal was the only thing missing from the first half and Alexis… he’s actually human right? The defence gets a collective 9 with a second successive clean sheet. And you want to know what I think of Cazorla’s continuous wayward shooting?

Szczesny: 5

You know what to expect from Sir Szczesny, and he didn’t fail to deliver. (How’s Ospina doing in the treatment room?)

Chambers: 7

After some poor attempts, he finally crafted a beauty to deliver a second assist in as many games. was good value for his goal too and showed really good awareness to save the clean sheet. (Boy’s clearly in cloud nine, the way he didn’t stop smiling)

Mertesacker: 7

Was a complete marshal today, even showed some ball-playing abilities. Back to his best, you may say.

Monreal: 7

Really looks like he’s enjoying the role. We haven’t exactly missed Koscielny so much have we? Someone says it’s just Burnely. (Ok, my hands are up).

Gibbs: 7

Excellent as he’s been all season, earned an assist for Alexis’ third goal. Played 90 minutes with a hip scare?

Arteta: 5 FOTM

Didn’t do much to mark his 100th League game in Arsenal colours. He even got outpassed and generally outplayed by his pair in the double pivot.

Flamini: 6

Showed better distribution of the ball, good improvement from previous games.

Oxlade-Chamberlain: 7

Very very good game from the Ox today. Menacing pace was a stretch to much to cope for the Burnely defence, kept whipping crosses in, unlucky not to get one converted.

Cazorla: 5

You may have to feel some sympathy for him, maybe, seeing how he often gets these chances but something just won’t give. Still the happy one though.

Alexis*: 9 MOTM

Two well taken goals today amounts to two consecutive League braces, 5 in his last 3, 7 in 9 starts, 10 goals in all competitions. Was £33 million a snip?

Welbeck: 6

Not enough from Welbeck today, despite two shots blocked. Giroud, at this rate, won’t have much to worry about.

Ramsey: 6… Always eager to affect the game in attack, outside-of-foot goal would have been a beauty

Walcott: 7… Ohhhh we’ve missed Theo! He could have got a goal and an assist today, sharp movements still very much on key.

Podolksi: 7… Man like Podolski, doesn’t love to trap a ball, does he? Actually gutted for him, he could have scored a hat-trick of howitzers! Condolences to the Burnley woodwork

Mr Wenger should now know Wilshere should be used a sub. and give Podolski more game time.
