Arsenal vs Newcastle: Player Ratings, MOTM, FOTM.

Arsenal went on rampage very early in the game against Newcastle at the Emirates and almost made it a stroll in the park, thrilling fans to some good football displays with Carzola and Giroud both picking up a brace in the match.

Below are my player ratings for the match.

Szcz?sny: 6

The Arsenal number one goalie didn’t have much work to do in the first half as his side kept it very professional. Couldn’t have done much to prevent the goal from Newcastle. A very good game from the Polishman regardless.

Debuchy: 6.5

Great game from the Frenchman considering he’s only returning from injury and having to play off his natural position. Looked very composed all through the game.

Mertersacker: 6.5

The Arsenal captain lead the team and charged them on all through the game. He’s sure stepping up his game and getting back to his best. Good game from the German.

Bellerin: 6.5

Always a serious treat going forward. You start to wonder if there’s any room left for Jenko when he returns. Great game from the youngster.

Gibbs: 6.5

Made sure there where no treats from his end. Confident as always. Good game.

Flamini: 5.5

Can we keep blaming Flamini for our ever failing defensive midfield holding role? No. Why? Because Wenger has refused to secure a permanent solution to the problem hence we continue to deal with his mis-timed challenges and unnecessary bookings.

Carzola: 7.5

The Spaniard has again proven that he is close to his best once again with a brilliant performance.

OX: 6.5

The Ox has continued to improve with every single game. Was all over the pitch making bursting runs and passes to set up attacks. It seems the middle of the pitch is working out well for him.

Sanchez: 7

The hardworking and tireless Chilean has continued to deliver the goods for us and has made sure that even though his name is not on the score sheet, he would at least set up his teammates to do so. His sudden understanding with Giroud is something every Arsenal fan  is now looking up to.

Welbeck: 5.5 FOTM

A very frustrating game for Welbeck. Struggled all through. Loose touches and mistimed runs. Did well to give the penalty. Still the least performer for the evening.

Giroud: 8 MOTM*

4 goals in 7 Arsenal appearances this season. Giroud has again proved to everyone why he should be Arsenal’s first choice centre forward. He’s sudden understanding with Sanchez is something that would surely drive Arsenal to success this season. Great game from the Frenchman

Coquelin: N/A

Podolski: 6

Came on for Giroud. Podolski is one man that doesn’t need 45 minutes to at least trouble the goalkeeper. Good game from the German.
