Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) and Olivier Giroud (foot) will both miss the home clash against Swansea City, but Mesut Ozil is expected to be available.
Ozil could once again be flanked by Theo Walcott and Alex Iwobi in the three advanced midfield positions in the 4-2-3-1 then, with Alexis Sanchez likely to start as the central striker once more.
Sanchez will need to be assessed after playing for Chile in the early hours of Wednesday morning, but with Lucas Perez, the other main alternative, struggling with a knee issue over the last few weeks, it’s unlikely the Chilean will be rested.
Francis Coquelin is also available for a first-team return and he could push for a recall in place of Granit Xhaka alongside Santi Cazorla in the double-pivot.
The back four of Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal looks set to remain unchanged, with Kieran Gibbs and Gabriel providing cover.
Per Mertesacker, Carl Jenkinson and Danny Welbeck remain sidelined.
