Arsenal have an opportunity to reduce the point deficit between they and Tottenham when they host Mauricio Pochettino’s men in a crunch Premier league tie this weekend.

The Gunners have been unusually poor this season, losing a shocking four games out of 11. On the contrast, Tottenham have maintained a decent start, losing two games and sitting in third spot of the Premier league and they have qualified for the Champions league ahead of Real Madrid in the same group.

Albeit the season is very much still early, a lose of Arsenal will push them further down the table and out of the title race but both teams will be looking to salvage points before the hectic festive schedule hit them.

Team News

The interlull did not end with much negatives this time around. Oliver Giroud sustained a thigh injury during the break and he is unlikely to be fit for the game.

Danny Welbeck and Shkodran Mustafi is back in full training while David Ospina is close to return to full training. Rob Holding is also a doubt and Santi Cazorla continues to be on the recovery pane.

Tottenham have a chunk of their first team players ruled out of this game. Defenders Toby Alderweireld is currently battling with a hamstring injury while Jan Vertonghen is recovering from an ankle injury. Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm are out too but report have indicated that the French goalkeeper could be featured if certified fit.

Victor Wanyama is close to returning with Vertonghen.

Dele Alli pulled out of the Three Lions squad but he is expected to back while Harry Kane and Harry Winks also left the English squad over injury concerns. However, Kane is expected to play.
