Arsenal’s interest in 50 goals in 96 appearances star has now been confirmed.
Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Argentine hitman Gonzalo Higuain.
The Gunners are keen on adding a deadly finisher to their ranks in the summer and have been linked with the former Real Madrid man.
Fresh report according to the Express says that Higuain’s father Jorge have confirmed the series of interest for his son. However, insisting the Napoli man will stay put in southern Italy.
“There are a lot of teams interested in Gonzalo.”
“However, he has a three-year contract to run with Napoli. I do not think he will go anywhere.”
Higuain moved to Napoli two years ago from Real Madrid for around £28 million, and has scored 50 goals in 96 appearances.
However, the Argentina international has been tipped to join a new club if Napoli fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Wenger is a keen admirer of Higuain and have failed in several attempts to land this sensational forward.
Higuain is sure to bolster the attack of any club he moves to. Knowing this, Arsenal will be keen on adding the 27-year-old to their rank in the summer.
