Arsenal’s deal to sign Nigeria Under 17 striker Samuel Chukwueze is on the verge of collapse, according to reports.

The striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates since the January transfer window but his deal has been difficult to complete compared to his National teammate Kelechi Nwakali who has since completed his move to the Emirates.

Although Nwakali’s move cannot be made official until he turns 18 later this summer, it was widely expected that Samuel Chukwueze would follow suit. But that is unlikely to happen now as Arsenal and the player’s academy still have a little disagreement to sort out.

According to AllNigeriasoccer via the Daily Express, Chukwueze’s proposed move to Arsenal is on the verge of collapse. It is believed that the player’s academy, Diamond Academy are unsure about the amount of compensation they would receive which has put the deal on hold.

The striker has been offered to Italian giants Juventus but the Old Ladies rejected the chance to sign the 17 year old. The striker himself is very keen on a move to the Emirates and has personally rejected previous interest from other clubs but the 17 year old could be disappointed should both clubs be unable to reach an agreement.

Chukwueze was part of the Nigeria U17 team that won the U17 World Cup in Chile last year.
