Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey insists there is no other person to manage Arsenal better than Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners boss have come under criticism for the team performance this year with fans calling for him to step down as the club’s boss.
The Gunners were touted by neutrals to win the league earlier in the season with other traditional big teams failing to live up to expectation but the team currently sit 9 points behind league leaders Leicester City.
This has infuriated fans with some of the fans unveiling a banner in the game against Hull City that read:
“Arsene, thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye.”
Ramsey has now revealed his disappointment to see the club’s fans calling for Wenger to be axed.
“It shocked me,” Ramsey told the Sun, as quoted by London24. “I didn’t see the banner at the time because I was injured and went straight down the tunnel.
“The lads weren’t talking about it because the same sentiments have been expressed before. To think that an Arsenal fan has taken the trouble to bring that to a game does shock me.
“You see the amount of managers who get sacked these days – a few bad results and they’re under pressure. But Arsene Wenger has handled it before and come out of it and I’m sure he’ll do so again.
“I think the frustration is there because it’s Leicester at the top of the Premier League and the so-called bigger teams aren’t.
“Everybody sees this season as an opportunity missed. This squad is good enough to win the league. On our day we can beat anybody.”
