The Gunners were thrashed twice within a space of four days by high-flying League leaders Manchester City. Wenger’s men were lazy and they looked purposeless in their shocking 1-2 loss to Brighton on Sunday — a result that piles more pressure on Arsene Wenger.

As a result of the recent run of poor results, Wenger’s job remains uncertain as there are reports suggesting that there are disagreements between players, the coach, board and even shareholders of the club.

The Sun reports that the Gunners hierarchy have discussed over the prospect of showing the Frenchman the club’s exit door before the end of the season. Though Wenger still has a contract which will expire by the summer of 2019, the board could terminate his contract before the season comes to an end.

According to Daily Star in the early hours of the day, Wenger has been charged to win the Europa League trophy if he wants to remain at the helm of managerial affair beyond this season.

The Europa League remains Wenger’s last hope of qualifying for next season’s Champions League and he will do all he can to win the trophy. They remain sixth in the Premier League table, 13 points behind Tottenham who are currently in the fourth position with huge goal difference.
