The Gabonese forward is on the verge of completing a move to Arsenal.
And he will reportedly wear the number 14, made famous by Thierry Henry during his Highbury and Emirates career.
Reports suggest the £60million deal will be completed as soon as the Bundesliga side find a replacement for the 28-year-old.
Aubameyang has scored 85 goals since the start of the 2014/15 season.
Aubameyang sent Arsenal fans into a spin with a tweet on Tuesday that was perceived to hint at a deal.
Along with a waving emoji the post was signed off “xxxxxxL” – suspected by some to say Arsenal with most of the letters removed.
Aubameyang is believed to have agreed a deal until the summer of 2021, with his wages of £180,000 a week,
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has remained coy over the possibility of signing the Bundesliga striker.
Aubameyang is among those considered to be a top priority, but Wenger said: “I have nothing to add to that.
“This kind of thing is better when it’s secret.
“You announce it when it’s over the line.”
