Summer signing Lucas Perez is prepared to leave Arsenal at the end of the season, according to Goal (via Daily Cannon).
The striker only joined from Deportivo La Coruna last August for £17m but has found first team opportunities difficult to come by.
Perez has only managed to complete the full 90 minutes of a game on five occasions this season and he is reportedly prepared to leave the Emirates at the end of the season in search of more playing time.
He is keen to be part of the Spain squad for the 2018 world cup and he knows playing regularly is the only way he can force himself into contention to make the La Roja squad.
A winter loan move was mooted in December but his agent quickly rejected any suggestions that the striker wants to leave Arsenal but with his situation not getting better, I doubt if he would want to remain here next season.
Arsenal are also being linked with a lot of top centre forwards and should we step up our attempt to bring in a new striker, it will definitely push Perez out of the club.
One season may be too early for him to make a decision to quit but at 28, he isn’t getting any younger and obviously 2018 would be his last chance of playing in football’s biggest competition. I’d imagine it will be difficult for him to turn down an offer from a club where he is certain of playing regularly.
