All eyes are on Arsenal new manager Unai Emery, as the Spanish tactician bolsters the Gunners squad ahead of the next season. Emery is expected to offload some of the players that are under-performing for the London club as well.
According to latest report, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to put pen to paper on a new deal but he do that on the one condition that Emery guarantees him game time.
Wilshere is in the final month of his current contract with Arsenal and he had reportedly agreed to sign a three-year deal with Arsenal. The contract is said to be £90,000 a week in wages which is a tad less than his current pay but add-ons have been included that is related to the number of games he can play for the side.
Wilshere spent the penultimate season on a loan deal with Bournemouth where he was fit for the first half of the season. Nonetheless, he picked up an injury and was sent back to Arsenal for his recuperation. The central midfielder starred for Arsenal last term, making 38 appearances in all competitions, mostly in the second half of the season and he impressed without picking up any injury.
However, the Standard reports that Wilshere will have a meeting with Arsenal boss Emery where he will seek game time assurance before he will agree to sign the deal. The report further claims that Wilshere wants to know Emery’s plan for next season.
Wilshere was left out of the three Lion’s squad for the showpiece football competition that is set to hold in Russia but he is firmly on the transfer radar of Juventus, Everton and Wolverhampton.
