decimated by injuries this season

Fresh news coming out of Germany insists Arsenal have reportedly revived their interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Lars Bender.

This report is according to the Sun who claims Arsene Wenger is lining up an £19million (€27M) bid for the German midfielder in winter.

Arsenal were heavily liked with signing him over the summer and reports claims French midfielder looks increasingly likely to join one of Chelsea or Manchester United, so the Gunners may take a punt on Bender.

Arsenal have been handed a major boost in finally getting his signature as club Chairman speaks out on Bender’s recent link to the England.

‘Bayer Leverkusen can’t be as arrogant to say that we are creating world stars and they will retire here,’ said chairman Michael Schade.

‘If we are able to create a world star or top player, then one day this player wants to play for one of the top [clubs in the world], of course.’
