Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has officially confirmed Aaron Ramsey have suffered an injury setback after Sunday’s defeat against Newcastle United.
The Gunners lost 2-1 despite taking the lead in the first hold of the game however, Wenger’s men have received praises in recent weeks for improving their form which has seen them secure a place in the semi-finals of the Europa League against Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal’s progress in Europe has been largely through the help of key midfielder Aaron Ramsey who scored in both games against CSKA Moscow in the quarter-final tie.
peaking after the loss to Newcastle, Wenger confirmed that Ramsey missed out on Sunday’s game due to an injury.
“Ramsey had a wound and couldn’t get into any contact.” Wenegr said after watching his side lose to the Magpies.
The Arsenal boss added that other players who were not named in the squad for Sunday’s fixture were out because of “little knocks”.
“The rest are little knocks and recovery tests, which weren’t good enough.”
