Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are monitoring OGC Nice defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy and are considering tabling a bid for the French international as the club looks to find a replacement for injured Coquelin.
Mendy is one of the six players reportedly on Arsene Wenger’s wish list to replace Coquelin who injured his knee ligaments against West Brom last weekend.
Reports claim Mendy has caught the attention of Arsene Wenger with series of impressive display for Nice and could be on his way to the Emirates when the transfer window opens in January.
Coquelin has been ruled out of action until March next year and Arsene Wenger will be forced into the market when the transfer window opens in January.
Coquelin has been an important member of the gunner’s starting xi since he was recalled from his loan spell at Charlton.
Arsene wenger is said to be monitoring a host of defensive midfielders which includes Lars Bender, Lucas Biglia, William Carvalho and Grzegorz Krychowiak.
Mendy joined Nice from Monaco in 2013 and has since then made 79 appearances for Nice.
The defensive midfielder is yet to be called up by the French national team, a move to Arsenal will definitely boost his chances of making it to the 2016 European championship.
